As the chill of autumn approaches, excitement is rising among coastal rowers across Essex. The Winter Series 13 promises to be one of the most competitive yet, with over 200 rowers from clubs around the region preparing to battle through the colder months.

From Manningtree to Brightlingsea, crews will take to the water in a ten‑race programme running right through winter, culminating in a thrilling March 2027 finale. Each round offers not only fierce competition but also fantastic spectator opportunities — with boats powering through frosty mornings and cheering crowds lining the shore.

Cold weather will be no boundary to determination. Rowers will dig deep, blades biting into icy water, driven by teamwork and the pursuit of victory. Whether you’re rowing, volunteering, or simply watching from the quayside, this winter’s series is shaping up to be one to remember
