🚣‍♂️ Pulling Together: Brightlingsea Rows Massive Distance for Stroke Support!

What happens when you combine the open sea, community spirit, competitive grit, and an absolute mountain of burgers? You get an unforgettable, record-breaking fundraising spectacular right on the waterfront!

On a brilliant day outside The Colne Yacht Club, a powerful team-up took place. Brightlingsea Coastal Rowing Club, the Blade Rowers, and the Colne Yacht Club joined forces with the Brightlingsea Stroke Support Services Group for the ultimate "Stroke 4 Stroke" charity rowing challenge.

With a row of Concept2 machines lined up against a stunning coastal backdrop, the stage was set for an epic day of community action.

🛣️ Streets Closed, Spirits High!

To make the day truly special, the road was completely closed off, transforming the waterfront into a vibrant, bustling pedestrian hub. Local residents, holidaymakers, and club members flooded the area, enjoying the sunshine and the infectious, high-energy atmosphere.

The rowers were on fire, but they weren't the only ones testing their limits! Throughout the busy day, countless brave members of the public stepped up to the plate, hopping onto the rowing machines to see exactly how many meters they could smash out for the cause. Every single meter counted toward a massive, secret grand total of cumulative distance rowed, kept under wraps for a thrilling final reveal!

The reveal *** an amazing 200km+ was collectively rowed during the event!

🍔 Fuelling the Effort

Rowing for charity is hungry work, and the event team made sure nobody went empty-handed. A sizzling BBQ kept the crowd completely fueled with classic burgers, while refreshing drinks and beers flowed at the bar to keep the energy levels topped up and the spectators cheering loudly.

💰 A Massive Success

Events like this don't just happen—they are built on the hard work of an incredible army of volunteers. Thanks to the dedication of everyone who shook a bucket, flipped a burger, logged a distance, or cheered from the sidelines, the day was an overwhelming success, raising many hundreds of pounds for Brightlingsea Stroke Support Services.

A massive thank you goes out to every club member, volunteer, and participant who proved that when Brightlingsea pulls together, we can achieve amazing distances for a truly great cause.

Until the next challenge—keep pulling together!
